Terms & Conditions
Effective April 26, 2026
1. Who you are contracting with
These Terms govern your use of Sandrine. (the "Service"), operated by Sandrine. ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account, uploading a manuscript, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that organisation. If you are an individual, you confirm that you are of legal age in your country of residence.
2. The Service
Sandrine. is a software platform that helps authors edit, format, design covers for, publish, and market their books. The Service includes AI-assisted features that read your manuscript and produce suggestions, cover concepts, marketing copy, and other artefacts derived from your input. We may evolve, add, or retire features over time.3. Your account and content
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
You retain all rights to the manuscripts, images, audio, and other content you upload ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate the Service for you. We do not use Your Content to train any AI model.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service. In particular, you must not:
- Use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive purpose;
- Send spam, malware, or attempt to probe, scan, or breach our systems;
- Scrape, copy, or resell the Service or its outputs in bulk;
- Infringe any third party's intellectual property or privacy rights;
- Upload content that is illegal, hateful, sexually exploitative of minors, or designed to harass an identifiable person;
- Use AI features to generate content that violates law, including non-consensual deepfakes, defamation, or content designed to deceive readers about authorship in a fraudulent way;
- Attempt to jailbreak, reverse engineer, or circumvent technical limits on the Service.
5. AI features and outputs
Our AI-assisted features can produce inaccuracies, omissions, or stylistic choices that do not match your intent. You are responsible for reviewing every suggestion and for the final manuscript, cover, and marketing copy you publish. AI outputs are not professional legal, medical, financial, or other regulated advice. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to any text, image, or audio you submit as input.
We may remove, restrict, or refuse outputs that we reasonably believe violate these Terms or applicable law. If you believe an output infringes your rights, contact us at support@sandrine.life and we will review the report. Repeat infringers will have their accounts terminated.
6. Intellectual property
We and our licensors own all rights in the Service, including the software, design, branding, and documentation. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service in accordance with your plan. Nothing in these Terms transfers any of our IP to you, and nothing transfers any of Your Content's IP to us beyond the operating licence in section 3.
7. Payments and subscriptions
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, applicable taxes, currency conversion, invoicing, cancellations, and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Checkout / Buyer Terms. Our specific refund window and request flow are described in our Refund Policy.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you materially breach these Terms, fail to pay amounts due, create a security or fraud risk, or repeatedly or seriously violate our Acceptable Use rules. We will give you reasonable notice when practicable. You may stop using the Service at any time. On termination, we will allow a reasonable window for you to export Your Content before deletion, except where deletion is required earlier by law or by your request.
9. Service level and warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, that any AI output will be accurate or fit for any particular purpose, or that defects will be corrected. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service in any 12-month period will not exceed the fees you paid us (or that Paddle paid us on your behalf) in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
11. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us from third-party claims arising from Your Content, your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or of law, or your infringement of any third party's rights.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-product or by email at least 14 days before they take effect, except where a shorter period is required by law or to protect the security of the Service. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at our place of establishment, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The courts of that jurisdiction will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
14. Assignment, force majeure, severability
You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Neither party is liable for failure to perform caused by events beyond its reasonable control. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force.
